Microsoft cuts the price of Xbox 360 Elite, discontinues Pro

Microsoft as expected has announced a drop in the price Xbox 360 Elite which comes with a 120 GB Hard Drive. Beginning friday, this most expensive variation of Xbox 360 would be sold at $299, $100 cheaper than its current price. The Xbox 360 Pro that comes with 60GB Hard Drive will be priced at $249 which is $50 cheaper than its current price while there is no change in the price Xbox 360 Arcade which will continue to be sold at $199.

Microsoft has also announced that it will not manufacture more units of Xbox 360 Pro which means that eventually there will be only two models at retail, the 120GB  version and Arcade model that comes without a Hard Drive.

This cut is being considered as a competitive move against Sony which earlier this month has cut the price of PS3 by $100 and introduced a slimmer version of PS3.

Download Yahoo! Messenger 10 Beta

Yahoo! has made some big changes today with the look and features of Yahoo! Mail and Yahoo! Search Result Pages and with that they have also launched Yahoo! Messenger 10 Beta. Not much changes in the look but many new features have been added which include:

Improved Video Calling
Video calling is the most significant improvement in this version. You can now move your video to any corner, swap it with your friend’s video, put it side-by-side or even hide it. You can also go in full-screen mode during the call, put the call on hold, mute the microphone or speakers.

Yahoo! Updates
See latest updates of your friends from Yahoo!, Flickr, Twitter and some more sites. You can also start a chat about an update with your friend by clicking on the update and selecting Instant Message option.

Status Message

Update your friends with a status message. Even though Yahoo! is quite late with this feature it is still a nice addition in the messenger.

Choosing your language
The language option comes right below the sign in button so now you can choose your language in few clicks just before signing into messenger.

All these features make this new version of Yahoo! Messenger worth a try.
